As social media networking channels such as Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn boom gloriously, the relevance of the ‘In-Person” interface is gradually shoved to burial. This need not and should not be the case! Investing on building face-to-face networks is certainly worth its value and has constantly helped many in landing their foot in the door.

Brand yourself with more than a virtual presence, attach characters and personality to your branding. Attend as many events as you possibly can, especially when you are still at studies. Make full use of the resources provided and events organised (expos, seminars, workshops, employer presentations/info sessions) to maximise your face-to-face networking opportunities.

Remember, you can’t perform all your networking online.
