Last week I attended the Wellington launch of the Global Poverty Project, a movement mostly involving young people which was initiated in Australia as a catalyst to ending extreme poverty. Hugh Evans is a co-founder of this movement and at only 25 years of age, has done more in his life than many of us will do in our entire lifetime. It got me thinking about careers that ‘make a difference’ and how often students tell me that they are looking for something which will enable them to make this world a better place. The more I started to look into this, the more inspired I became by the number of people who have made a significant positive impact in the world. Echoing Green and Be Bold are two resources which support social change and connect you with non-profit organisations around the world. Have a look….be inspired….and find out how you too can make an impact!
A favourite website of mine is www.idealist.org, an interactive site where people and organisations can exchange resources and ideas and locate job opportunities.
