Stand out from the crowd

At the recent International Careers Conference in Wellington, one of the workshop presenters was Rupert French from ‘The Job Winners’.  His strategy for job seekers is to find and win jobs before they are advertised and to access the hidden job market through structured networking.  One must have confidence in one’s ability to perform.  A well planned, proactive, full-time approach to the job search is likely to bring success than a less wholehearted approach.

“Doing the bare minimum gets minimal results:  it’s going the extra mile that wins jobs!”

You can check out Rupert French’s practical job search tips on:  www.jobwinners.com.au

On the Vic Careers website, there is a comprehensive section on ‘Job Hunting Preparation’ covering the importance of employer research and how to go about it; creating your application/CV; different ways you can look for work and find positions to apply for; surviving the interview process; and preparing for psychometric testing and assessments.  View all this here
