Being a Brit and having worked in a top University in the UK, I always follow what’s happening for graduates over the other side. This year’s British graduates are already out there looking for work,  if they weren’t already one of the lucky ones to secure a graduate position before finishing their studies. And competition is tough.
I know Vic Careers gives clear advice about developing your employability skills while at Uni but this is really something you cannot afford to ignore. Improve your CV through work experience as well as good academic results. I would also encourage you to get involved in voluntary work and join the Vic Plus programme to further broaden your skills and demonstrate your energy. However you do it, it will be worth it. Here is a recent article from the BBC which shows the lengths graduates are going to in order to give themselves better employment prospects. I would suggest you ask yourself, ‘what am I going to do to try and develop my employability before I graduate?’
