Back up and running!

Happy New Year everyone! Summer is officially here (at least in Wellington) and we’re starting the countdown towards Semester One 2013. I know it will be another busy year for all our students but I hope everyone will come and pay us a visit at some point. January is a perfect time to create a career action plan for the year ahead, especially if you’re feeling uncertain about what you want to study this year or you’re needing to think about finding a job.

Our drop in times and appointments are back up and running. Check Victoria CareerHub for times or call us on 463 5393. Speaking of CareerHub, if you aren’t already registered then get registered! Victoria CareerHub is an online system that provides you with all you need to know about job seeking, career planning and graduate recruitment. By registering on Victoria CareerHub you can search the CareerHub site 24 hours, 7 days a week. For more information on CareerHub, go to http://www.victoria.ac.nz/st%5Fservices/careers/students/careerhub.aspx

If we already have you registered are your contact details up to date? These are important to check, especially your email address as you might be missing out on job alerts. Go to ‘My Details’ to check you contact details and ‘My Preferences’ to see if you are set up to receive job alerts.

Our careers workshops will kick start the week beginning 11th February so keep an eye on the ‘Events’ section in CareerHub. These are great for when you need help with your CV, cover letter, applying for jobs, interview techniques and more. Plus don’t forget Victoria graduates can come to these workshops too.

Enjoy these last few week of your summer break and we hope to see you soon.
