Codebreakers – using critical thinking
The Victoria University Careers team engaged in a fun team building event this month and tested their own attributes of critical thinking, communication and openness to ideas, which are central to the aims of the University’s graduate profile. They transformed into a team of undercover detectives and had one hour to work out the code to escape from behind a heavy vault door in the former premises of an insurance company.
EscapeMate, which is on Johnston St, Wellington, can take groups of three to ten people but they found it was ideal with six and ideas flowed from each member of the team in their determination to escape within the allotted time. In fact they did it with two minutes to spare and no arguments. They can’t give too much away about how you solve the clues and break the code but suggest you give it a go! Have you done any local activities which have helped develop your team spirit?
