Finding summer work

finding-summer-work-bookletIt’s practically December which means the official start of SUMMER! For those students who are still trying to find a summer job, have you seen our Finding Summer Work handout? Packed full of tips and advice, hopefully it won’t be long before something comes your way. My two cents worth is be proactive. As well as looking online you will need to put yourself out there by talking to people. Consider the organisations you would like to work for and create a plan of attack. Some organisations you can walk straight in to discuss any job opportunities, like the retail and hospitality sector, but others you won’t be able to get past the receptionist.

If you’re struggling we are still running our drop-in sessions where you can have a 15 minute chat about your job search plan of attack, and get your CV or cover letter checked. We also have our last few CV and Interview workshops of the year but these are booking up fast! Check them out on Victoria CareerHub under the ‘Events’ section.
