Intermission

It’s been a chaotic couple of weeks at work. We are all busy running around getting ready for the start of trimester one. I am already yearning for another holiday even though it’s only been a few weeks since Christmas / New Year break. One thing to keep in mind is that we should always pace ourselves, otherwise we might find ourselves in the state of burning out. Making progress in your career is a marathon, not a race. It is important to take a break every now and then, even if it is just a short one; or, as I like to call it, “an intermission”.

I am taking a break from my usual chapter writing to blog about some of the things we can do to break up our typical work day or work week to “recharge” ourselves.

Intermission activity suggestions (Part One):

  1. Check out Google’s Interactive Doodles.
  2. Work on a hobby / project.
  3. Walk around the Botanical Gardens.
  4. Visit a museum.
  5. Talk to people.
  6. Enjoy some snacks. Get a coffee (or a drink).
