Gone are the days when the perfect job would fall into your lap (if they ever existed?). You have to work hard to find a job these days and I know there are a lot of you out there who are struggling.

I posted back in September 2010 asking whether you were doing all you can to find a job. Are you being creative enough? Are you pushing yourself to explore other avenues? I’ve spoken with a few people recently who are tired of waiting for the jobs to appear so they are preparing to conduct the ‘Information or Research Interview’. What exactly is an Information Interview?  It involves “talking with people who are currently working in the field to gain a better understanding of an occupation or industry — and to build a network of contacts in that field”.
